Finding it difficult to cope with life? - Let's talk !

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT is a short term therapy, usually between 6 to 20 sessions, which focuses on the here and now as opposed to spending time stressing over past events that you cannot change. It helps you to identify both short and long term goals that you would like to achieve as we look at how you think and feel about yourself, other people and the world. The lengths of the sessions are approximately 55 minutes and are initially on a weekly basis. These are reduced to longer periods as you start to address and learn to deal more effectively with your problems.
CBT helps you to look at how your negative thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour are limiting your quality of life. You are provided with a safe and confidential environment in which you can develop new techniques and skills to deal with issues that are causing you distress and affecting how you relate with other people. You are encouraged to be proactive and put your learning into practice between sessions. Having acquired these new tools, you will become more competent in dealing with any subsequent difficulties that may occur, enabling you to become your own therapist once treatment concludes.
